High Tension/Haute Tension, 2003

You might know the man behind this 2003 French horror film: Alexandre Aja. Thanks to the success of High Tension, he then became a Hollywood favorite and went on to direct many American movies like The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, Piranha 3-D and more recently Crawl. The Returned/Les revenants, 2014

The dead are back, alive and well in a small idyllic French alpine village. A gripping, stylish mix of real and surreal, the highly cinematic The Returned is somewhere in between Twin Peaks and The Walking Dead.
