You can thank France for Netflix's next international language smash hit, starring the beloved Omar Sy (known for playing the lead in César award-winning The Intouchables). Who can resist a vintage Parisian backdrop to enjoy adept professional crime?  

The show is based on the famous short story/novella series created at the turn of the century by Maurice Leblanc about posh gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin. Sy brings the perfect mix of suavity, comedic timing and charisma to such a complex role in such a beloved French genre. He's also the first black actor to embody the role.

But you'll have to hold your breath for a while before sitting down for these particular thrills. The anticipated new series is scheduled to premiere in 2020. So far, the only other French Netflix original is Marseille, a not so great French House of Cards.
