'Marianne': A French horror TV series coming to Netflix (TRAILER)

After Marseille, Osmosis, Plan Cœur and Family Business, Netflix will launch its fifth original French TV show with Marianne. Check out the trailer of this upcoming horror series made in France coming to Netflix on Friday, the 13th of September! Spooky!

We sure are excited about this one! Although horror is not a major genre in France, French directors have proven over time that they have a well-known savoir-faire in the business of fear, as can be attested by the popularity of films released in the U.S., such as Raw (Grave), Them (Ils), Sheitan or TV shows like Les revenants.

Marianne, which will be an 8 episode mini-series, will follow Emma (Victoire Dubois, seen recently in Call Me By Your Name), a famous horror writer lured back to her hometown, only to discover that the evil spirit from her books are now wreaking havoc in the real world.

The TV Show was created and directed by Samuel Bodin and will be available worldwide on Netflix on Friday, the 13th of September.

French Revolution and Vampires

And that's not all. In the coming months, two other French TV shows will be launched on Netflix. The first one, which doesn't have a name yet, will bring a fantasy element to the famed 1787 French revolution. While investigating a series of mysterious murders, Joseph Guillotin - the future inventor of the world famous ‘Guillotine’ - uncovers an unknown virus: the Blue Blood. The disease, quickly spreads amongst the French aristocracy, driving them to murder ordinary people and soon leads to a rebellion… What if the French Revolution didn’t happen the way we were told?

The second one will be an adaptation of Thierry Jonquet's novel, Vampires: when a young rebellious teenage girl is faced with her inevitable change, becoming a vampire, her overly protective mother engages her estranged siblings in a race to find a cure.
