"Jealousy" by Philippe Garrel will be released this summer in America

Jealousy has only been shown once in the US during the New York Film Festival. Distrib Films acquired the US rights and will release the movie July 11.

Released in France on December 4, 2013, Jealousy, by Philippe Garrel is inspired by the life of his father, the great actor Maurice Garrel, and is featuring his son Louis Garrel alongside Anna Mouglalis. The story analyzes the relationship between art and life by evoking difficulties and risks of a life as an actor. The film is an intimate and delicate chronicle that explores the limits of love and happiness. The black and white photography enhances both the simplicity and the intensity of the narrative.

The release will be a too rare opportunity to discover a director, rarely shown in the United States, who shot his first feature at the age of nineteen and who has defined himself as a Jean-Luc Godard successor.
Maurice Garrel who inspired the film died in 2011 ; he turned in eight films of his son. You can read here his beautiful portrait published by Télérama. (French language).
