French Actresses Are the Faces of Two Major Upcoming Hollywood Movies

In Sam Mendes' 007 Spectre, Lea Seydoux is Madeleine Swann, one of the notorious "Bond girls". Everybody knows that many French actresses have become house-held names after this acquiring this particular role, among them: Claudine Auger, Carole Bouquet and Sophie Marceau. The movie opens in the US on November 6.

In Macbeth, adapted from Shakespeare by Justin Kurzel, Marion Cotillard is Lady Macbeth, an ambitious wife who drives her husband to treason and murder to gain power. The first adaptations of this cursed play by Orson Welles and later by Roman Polanski have not been met with success. Marion Cotillard’s role is a difficult one that Vivien Leigh actually played on stage in 1955 and Simone Signoret in 1966. The movie opens in the US on December 4.
