Become a published film critic!

Do you have strong opinions about France & French Cinema? Are you interested in watching films that will change your vision of France while embracing what you love most about French cinema ? Are you a Francophile at heart ready to discover France’s new and multiple identities? 

If so, you’re in luck.

During the 23rd edition of Rendez-Vous with French Cinema on March 8-18, UniFrance, the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Frenchly invite any New Yorker under 40 years of age to play critic and write an original 800-words review for our first review contest: “Salut les Jeunes Critiques”.

The best critic will win a trip to Paris, offered by UniFrance, and a free TV5MONDE subscription for one year, plus their review will be published on three different websites: Frenchly, Film Society of Lincoln Center, and UniFrance.

What movie can you choose? Any film playing during the festival! Check out the complete Line-UpTickets go on sale Friday, February 16 and will sell out fast!

To help you narrow your choices, the festival will be hosting for the first time this year a “Salut les Jeunes” day, on Monday, March 12th, featuring four selections from the lineup that focus on the experiences of young people. Special Pass & Perks available for true French film lovers under 40 who watch all 4 films!

Salut les Jeunes Critiques guidelines

Target: anyone less than 40 years old
Format: Submit a 800 words review in English of one Rendez-Vous film
Deadline: Friday, March 16th at 12pm
Contact: please send your critic in the body of the email to salutlesjeunescritiques@gmail.com

The winning review will be selected by a UniFrance & Film Society of Lincoln Center panel. The awarded review will be announced on March 17th, 2018

Grand Prize: One round trip flight NY-Paris offered by UniFrance, One yearly TV5MONDE subscription, Publication of the article on Frenchly, the UniFrance website, and the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s FilmLinc Daily

All-Day Pass will be available for pick-up at the Walter Reade Theater Box Office on March 12. Offer valid to attendees 21–40 years. Proof of age must be presented to the box office.
