Alain Delon Collection – Round 2

The greatest screen seducer and action hero Alain Delon does not only shine in front of the camera. From the 1960s, he had been the producer of 38, writer for 10, and director for 4 films. We include two intense crime thrillers from the late 70s to early 80s in this week’s selection: Death of a Corrupt Man, which Delon funded and produced, and For a Cop’s Hide, which he directed – both feature the performance of the “sacred monster” of France.

Death of a Corrupt Man (Mort d'un pourri)

After blackmailed by a fellow assemblyman, Philippe Dubaye, a member of the French parliamentary assembly, decides to kill him to avoid the revelation of his involvement in political corruption. He steals the document which is the proof of his and many other politicians’ illegal dealings, but soon after he tells his long-time business partner and friend Xavier (played by Alain Delon) where he hides it, Philippe is murdered. Now everybody wants to get hold of the notorious document - influential politicians, powerful businessmen, dubious go-betweens and the police - while Philippe and Xavier’s girlfriend Valerie becomes the target of the manhunt.
