2 Autumns, 3 Winters

NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE TO STREAM ON NETFLIX. NOW AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX DVD. Luckily for us, Netflix seems to have no problem posting early releases in their queue when it comes to French movies. With a U.S. release date of June 6, 2014, you may be pleasantly surprised to see this delightful rare treat already available in the comfort of your own home.

Introduced to us as an addition to France's new cinematic movement, "new new wave", 2 Autumns, 3 Winters (2 automnes, 3 hivers) is a wistful romantic comedy, written and directed by Sébastien Betbeder.

Two couples are placed together, side by side, showing us unique perspectives each individual might have within their relationships, and about their lives.  Monologues given directly to the camera are interspersed with important narratives regarding three central characters.

Arman (Vincent Macaigne) meets Amélie (Maud Wyler) in the park on a jog, saves her from a near-traumatizing experience, and love ensues. Arman's best friend Benjamin (Bastien Bouillon) suffers from a mysterious fatal accident of his own, which also, in a way, ends in love.

The dialogue is unapologetic and simply honest about everything life throws at us, big and small.
Prepare yourself to be inspired, and then switch on the latest French flick, 2 Autumns, 3 Winters.
