Les Combattants (Love at First Fight)

Thomas Cailley's Love at First Fight (Les combattants) follows Madeleine Beaulieu, a young aspiring member of the infantry, wanting nothing more than to best learn how to survive the end of days.

Adèle Haenel, whom may seem familiar because of her young and gawky appearance eight years ago in Water Lilies, plays an intriguing leading lady.

A rarity enters Madeleine's life as she picks up her pen to enlist: a new friend, Arnaud (Kévin Azaïs). The two of them wisen up to the meaning of life in every way imaginable.

Dealt with through the eyes of such young characters, it makes for an inspiring and poignant two hours, to say the least.  For those who like their romance with a little fight in it.
