The Five French Films to Watch on TV5MONDE in November

Two major films are on the agenda in November on TV5MONDE, the magnificent melodrama My Friend Victoria and the refreshing and moving Un divan à Tunis. 

Mon amie Victoria

Inspired by Douglas Sirk's classic, Mirage of Life, this magnificent feature film paints a mysterious portrait of a young woman who is slowly losing control of her life. A strong and complex melodrama. 

Victoria never forgot the night she spent with a wealthy white family when she was only a  child. Several years later she has a short fling with Thomas, the youngest son, and gives  birth to a daughter. Victoria waits seven years before telling Thomas, and his family, about  the baby.

While surfing the internet, he meets a young South Korean  woman, Soo, and the pair begin talking every day. On a sudden impulse, he decides to fly to  Seoul in the hope of meeting her.

A moving, funny story of coming back home, and a realistic look at the changed country of Tunisia. A fantastic film.

After having practiced in France, 35-year-old Selma decides to open a psychoanalysis  practice in her country of origin, Tunisia. It gets off to an epic start with demand soaring  just after the revolution. But just as Selma begins to find her bearings, she faces the  inflexibility of the authorities.

The situation takes a turn for the worse when Teddy, her other grandfather, and a  former nightclub owner, arrives unannounced.
