Marceline. A Woman. A Century

Synopsis

This portrait pays tribute to the pioneers of cinema who have engaged themselves in the discovery of the misunderstood people. The film is built up through the encounter with the remarkable French film director Marceline Loridan-Ivens, dead after the shooting, in September 2018. She is a radical chronicler, actress of Jean Rouch, survivor from Holocaust and long-standing companion of the legendary Netherland film pioneer Joris Ivens. With her husband, she has co-directed several documentaries about China. Lots of extraits of her films in this documentary remind us of the old time of this mysterious country.
