In Normandy, Louise lives happily in a world of horses. But fate suddenly intervenes. Louise remains alone with her father and a family friend at the Ferronnière, the stud farm where she has always lived. Business starts going badly and the farm teeters on bankruptcy. Fortunately there is Marquise, a young mare that Louise has raised. Despite all opposition, the young woman and the Marquise will fight against fate that seems to dog them.
