Sergei is an Evenk, the nomadic reindeer breeders who live in the mountains of Oriental Siberia. When he is turns 16, Sergei is named guardian of the great herd of the Batagai clan. Right from an early age, Sergei has learnt to hunt and kill wolves. He's never had any qualms about this, but his encounter with a she-wolf and her four adorable wolf cubs challenges all his convictions and causes his life to change radically.
