After his mother dies, piano tuner Zino sets out in search of the father he never knew, only to find the witty and vibrant Lola (acclaimed actress Fanny Ardant), a belly dance instructor. Determined to finally connect with her son, Lola follows Zino back to Paris to reveal her true identity as his transgender parent. After the initial shock, the two tentatively begin to build a vital if fractured relationship in this nuanced, upbeat study of forgiveness, acceptance and discovery.
