An extremely moving portrait of Sabine Bonnaire, an autistic woman, made by her closest sister, French actress Sandrine Bonnaire. It recounts her story through personal archives, shot by the actress over a period of twenty-five years, and gives an account of her life today in a center adapted to her needs. The documentary evokes an endearing personality, whose development and multiple gifts have been crushed by an inadequate and failing health system. After a tragic period of five long years in a psychiatric hospital, Sabine regains her taste for life, even if her capacities remain impaired, in a center in the Charente region. It is a demonstration by example of the lack of specialized centers equipped to cope with the disabled, and the dramatic consequences this engenders.
