Parisian widowers, Anne (Anouk Aimée), a film script supervisor, and Jean-Louis (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a racecar driver, have a chance encounter at their children’s boarding school. Though haunted by their late spouses, Anne and Jean-Louis try to forge a new life for themselves.
